Softball Chosen Eleventh in GAC Preseason Poll
RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The Great American Conference released Wednesday the league’s preseason softball poll, as voted on by the GAC’s 12 head coaches. SWOSU has been slated for an 11th-place finish in 2022.
Southern Arkansas is the preseason favorite to win the conference with seven first-place votes and 115 total points, seven poll points ahead of Arkansas Tech who picked up three first-place votes. Southeastern also picked up two first-place votes.
SWOSU is coming off a 9-29 season where they finished 9-24 in GAC. 2019 Coach of the Year Kim Maher enters her sixth season leading the Bulldogs.
The Bulldogs open the 2022 season on February 11-13 in Edmond at a tournament co-hosted by Central Oklahoma and Oklahoma Christian.
