The SWOSU Jazz Festival is coming up on February 10-11 on the Weatherford campus, and the prestigious festival will feature the 3D Jazz Trio and Friends.

Dr. Richard Tirk, director of the festival, said there will be concerts on Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday at 1 p.m. and Friday at 8 p.m. There will be clinics and high school/middle school bands playing throughout the day. In addition, a “Drinks with the Divas” reception will also be held on Friday evening from 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Featured artists this year include the 3D Jazz Trio of Sherrie Maricle, drums; Jackie Warren, piano; and Amy Shook, bass. The friends include Jenn Krupa, trombone; Barbara Laronga, trumpet; and Janelle Reichman, sax. 3D plays original, traditional and contemporary standards from all genres of music. The group met in 2014 at the Cleveland Playhouse while playing in The DIVA Jazz Orchestra and 3D has performed at many of the world’s most prestigious venues and festivals.

The 52^nd annual SWOSU Jazz Festival is made possible by the SWOSU Music Department in conjunction with the City of Weatherford, Oklahoma Arts Council, the National Endowment for the Arts and the SWOSU Foundation.
