Bulldogs lose halftime lead against Harding
The SWOSU men’s basketball team matched up against Harding University, where they would start the game with good energy and would take command early. Plays were coming from any player at any given time and the Bulldogs were winning all the hustle plays.
DeAngelo Adkins had a great start to the game and finished the game with 19 points on 7-for-8 shooting and 3-for-4 on three pointers.
The Bulldogs went into halftime with a 45-33 lead over Harding. The second half would have a different energy to it from both sides.
Harding slowly crept back, and no matter how much SWOSU tried to stop the run, Harding wouldn’t go away.
SWOSU was outscored 49-27 in the second half and would lose the match 82-72.
Damion Thornton finished the game with 21 points and nine rebounds on 5-for-15 shooting and 11-for-17 from the free throw line.
With the loss, the Bulldogs are now 9-14 on the season, and 8-10 in Great American Conference matchups.
SWOSU will take the court again on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2022, at 3 p.m. at the Pioneer Cellular Event Center for the final time this season on Senior Day.
