On Monday November 13th, 2023 Greek Life Sigma Phi Lambda and Campus Ministry Delight Ministries hosted an open Worship Night @7pm at the Timothy T. Day Business Enterprise Center on campus.
Sigma Phi Lambda hosts a worship night each semester, and was so excited to partner with Delight Ministries in the Fall of 2023. A typical worship night includes music, prayer and a message. The event was open to the public, and around 45-50 students attended. On top of music, prayer and a message, this event also included a hot chocolate bar.
Brooklyn Taylor, Sigma Phi Lambda Chaplin stated “Planning worship night took a lot of collaboration and communication with Delight Ministries, who are an amazing group of women on campus. This event also required a lot of prayer and trust that the Lord would move in the hearts of all who attended, and that this worship night would glorify him.”
“I enjoyed the worship.” “I thought it was really cool to see two organizations on campus coming together to worship God.”

Additionally, the event planning team welcomed OU Softball Player SJ Geurin as the guest speaker.
Phi Lamb Member Addison Taylor, reached out to the officer team earlier this year about welcoming Geurin to speak at the worship night. “I brought up the idea to the officer team and they were all for it. We all thought that this would be a great opportunity for us as a chapter, and that it’s such a cool thing for us to experience.” Addison later reached back out to SJ to finalize the plans.
“When I reached out to SJ to come and speak, she was super willing and excited. I was so excited when she agreed, because this was a super exciting opportunity for Phi Lamb.”
SJ Geurin spoke about asking God “Why?” and used scripture throughout the book of Job.
“I loved that we had the opportunity to have SJ join us for our worship night for the fall semester. It was a great time surrounded by all of my closest friends to worship all together!”
-Kyndal Denwalt, Phi Lamb Vice President
“When SJ said “God is with us in the deepest seas and on the highest of mountains and we should praise him through it all.” Stuck with me”.
