Men and Women’s SWOSU Basketball teams have wrapped up Non-conference play, with each team having a sub .500 record.
Men’s basketball started the year with a 0-4 record, following a 0-2 turnout at the GAC/MIAA challenge in which they lost to Fort Hays State and 20th-ranked Emporia State. The Bulldogs again faced a ranked opponent the following game, losing to 13th-ranked Dallas Baptist. The squad then dropped their home opener to Cameron, losing by four after leading by as much as 15 during the second half.
On the women’s side, the team has started the season 2-3. The Dawgs started the season in the GAC/MIAA crossover where they beat Washburn, dropped a game to Pittsburgh St, then beat Oklahoma City University. Following the 2-1 record, the team lost by seven to both 22nd-ranked Lubbock Christian and Texas Permian Basin, both matchups were part of the Lone Star Conference Crossover.
Both teams begin conference play on Thursday, traveling to Shawnee to face Oklahoma Baptist University. The teams open up home conference play this Saturday, with the girls tipping off at 1, and the guys tipping off at 3. Both teams will face Southeastern Oklahoma State University.
