SAAC is a student-athlete-run organization that works on putting events together for the community and SWOSU students to grow a connection between the town.
This past Tuesday SAAC hosted a Christmas carnival in the Rankin Field House to let kids enjoy time away from school, play mini games, and meet the athletes of SWOSU!
SAAC member Taylor McMahon stated, “We do this event not just for the community but for the kids having a harder holiday season. It gives them time to really feel the joy of the season. Also, the SWOSU athletes who come out to help, really feel they are making a difference and growing bonds with everyone.”
SAAC brought out Santa Clause, Duke the Bulldog, and even the Grinch to take pictures with the kids. The kids really seemed to enjoy seeing them and the smiles they had grew from ear to ear.
The kids enjoyed different games as well and got to meet the SWOSU athletes that worked them. Bouncin Bells was one of the games they enjoyed the most. The kids would jump on a trampoline and try to hit pegs that were above them and see who could get the highest.
