This past weekend Southwestern put on the all-women’s musical, Quilters. The weekend-long show was directed by Steve Strickler and received a great turnout! Quilters is set during the Pioneer Age and shows the raw and real emotions pioneer women had to endure to survive. The show transitions each woman’s story through quilt blocks. Each square is unique because each square tells a story. The outstanding women tell these stories through song and Southwestern’s cast performed each song beautifully. Every performer had their voice and used all individual voices to harmonize and come together to tell one story. Quilters are the perfect mix of drama and comedy and had the audience in tears of sadness and laughter. This show was a well-rounded production that touched the hearts of many and will always be an unforgettable show performed at Southwestern.
