One of the many benefits that come along with being a student at SWOSU is Crowder Lake. Located south of town, Crowder Lake features many outdoor activities that students and the public can enjoy.
Join us on Saturday, April 6 for Crowder Lake’s opening day for the 2024 season. From 10 am-5 pm, there will be free watercraft rentals (weather permitting). From 10 am to 12 pm, there will be free rappelling. From 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm there will be free ziplining. There will be no food trucks at the event, but visitors are encouraged to come have a picnic and enjoy the outdoors.
The park also features many more amenities including a 9-hole disc golf course, axe throwing, a mile walking trail, a fire pit, camping, bird watching, fishing, and much more. Discs and axes can be checked out, and camping is available at a reduced rate for students and staff ($10 for RV, $6 for primitive. For non-students/staff the rate is $20 for RV, $12 for primitive).
Crowder Lake will be open through the summer and fall semesters and all rentals are free for SWOSU students and faculty with a valid SWOSU ID. The park is open every day (including weekends) from 1 pm-6 pm.
Throughout the season, there will be many events such as full moon paddles, coffee, and kayaks, as well as the Crowder Lake Archery Club. Follow Crowder Lake on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date on what is happening at Crowder this season.
