Thrillers:
The Inmate By: Frieda McFadden 10/10
This book is one of many thrillers/mysteries written by Frieda McFadden. This story is about a nurse practitioner who takes a new job at a maximum security prison. This prison happens to be close to her hometown where she may have had some hard experiences. She also notices this prison holds a person who used to be close to her heart, until one night back in highschool everything changed for her. This story left me speechless. The number of twists and turns had me staying up way too late to finish this book.
The Silent Patient By: Alex Michaelides 11/10
This is another very strong thriller/mystery. This book is about a girl who was found guilty of murdering her husband but something wasn;t right. She was committed to a psychiatric unit as she never spoke a word after the murder. She was also a painter, she painted beautiful paintings but what got her convicted was a painting she made after the murder. At the psychiatric hospital a psychotherapist has become very interested in this case and getting her talk. Who is this psychotherapist, and what does he have with her story? This is the book that made me fall in love with thrillers. The plot twist made me throw the book across the room. If you want to get into thrillers, start with this one.
