On October 30th, SWOSU Parks and Recreation Management’s Community Recreation class is hosting a Terror Trot! This 5k and 1-mile fun run is for all ages and will feature all kinds of scares throughout the course. The one-mile route will be a mild scare route. All finishers will receive candy, and 5k finishers will receive another special prize! The race will begin at 7 pm.
Where? The trot will take place at the Prairie West Golf Club.
How to sign up: To enter, visit the sign-up page here. The cost to enter the 5k is $25 and a canned good. For the 1 mile run, entry is $15 and a canned good. Every canned good brought will be one ticket for a 52-quart cooler giveaway (maximum 5 entries). All proceeds and goods will be donated to the Connections Food and Resource Center. Registration begins at 5:30.
Dress for success: Before the 5k, prizes will be given away to those with the best costume!
What are the prizes for top finishers? The winner of the 5k will receive a $100 gift certificate from Fridas Cocina, second place will receive a $50 gift certificate from Surf Bar Food Truck. For kids, the winner will receive a $50 gift certificate from The Funky Zebra/ M. Cloyd & Co.
