SWOSU women’s basketball has started their season strong at a now 3-0 start after last nights impressive win over ENMU, 81-59.
The Dawgs came out strong in the first quarter but so did ENMU. This ended with a tie 17-17. SWOSU was able to score against the strong ENMU defense but what got them was rebounds this quarter. ENMU was able to recover 13 rebounds while SWOSU could only get 4. This didn’t stop the dawgs. After this quarter, they dawgs didn’t let ENMU get close to getting ahead.
Into the second quarter SWOSU started to pull ahead and this came from the amount of free throws they made. The bulldogs made 9 out of the 13 free throw opportunities just this half. ENMU began to fade behind and let the fouls get to them. This quarter ended with the dawgs up 35-30.
The last two quarters it was all SWOSU. Every mistake ENMU made we capitalized on. ENMU in these last two quarters had two technical fouls and one intentional foul. This pushed the dawgs ahead. SWOSU ended the night with 36 free throw attempts and made 26 of them. The game ended with a stunning win by the Bulldogs, 81-59.
The Dawgs hope to push this win into next week when they face UCO November 23rd, in Edmond Oklahoma at 1:30pm.
