Whether you’re deep into a fit of puppy love, or Cupid is stupid, love has been all around this month, and Reslife definitely didn’t shy away from that with some of their dorm events this February.
There was Cards and Cookies on February 5th at Black Kettle Hall where attendants could get free cookies and make Valentine’s Day cards for the people they cared about.
On February 10th, Mann Hall hosted Charcuterie and Cards where there was a dessert charcuterie board and more Valentine’s Day card making! (You can never have too many homemade cards to or from somebody you care about, just saying.)
Cookies and Coloring was on February 13th at Oklahoma Hall. While not necessarily a Valentine’s Day centered event; it was the day before Valentine’s Day, (also known as GALentine’s Day) and come on, eating cookies, having coloring pages, and hanging out with your friends, that sounds more fun than Valentine’s Day anyway!
However, not all events this month were related to love or Valentine’s Day.
For example, there was Stay Afloat this Semester on February 4th at Oklahoma Hall where attendants made root beer floats and got to enjoy some free snacks followed by Sausage Fest at Neff Hall where the Neff RAs grilled sausages for attendants to enjoy some free food and entertainment.
Vision Boards was on February 6th at Stewart Hall where people could come and pick out various pictures and cutouts from vision board magazines that helped to lay out their goals for the next year, or just the next few years in general, and attach them onto canvases to make them able to be displayed somewhere.
Neff Hall paired with SGA (Student Government Association) on February 9th to have Super Bowl Watch Party where they provided free food and drink to the people who came and the person to guess the closest to the final score of the game won a prize.
Mocktails and Murals was on February 17th at Stewart Hall where there was painting as well as Shirley Temples, fruit lemonades, and A Cinderella Story for entertainment followed by Popcorn Painting at Mann Hall where you received a canvas and started to paint. But the catch of “popcorn painting” is you have to switch canvases every few minutes with the person sitting next to you, creating a truly unique art piece in the end and making a fun memory with your friend or friends.
Everyone loves Bob Ross, right? Well, Oklahoma Hall certainly did on February 18th when they hosted Bob Ross Tutorial which is pretty much what it sounds like; attendants got to have free drinks and paint along with a Bob Ross tutorial.
On February 19th, Key in at BK happened at Black Kettle Hall which was where there were beads of all colors for people to make keychains or friendship bracelets.
Black Kettle Hall had all the right incentives for college kids to come to their event when they had Slime and True Crime on February 24th where attendees could make slime while listening to a true crime episode.
Rounding out the month and certainly not to be forgotten was The Wand Chooses The Wizard on February 26th at Stewart Hall. Yes, you read that right. It was a night full of enjoying Harry Potter, special wizard themed snacks and drinks, and even making your own wizard wand!
Even though February is the shortest month, there was no shortage from Reslife to start off this semester right with 13 events in total! Be sure to keep watching at the end of every month for your Reslife Recap, and as always, go dawgs!
