This year’s 21st annual Bulldog Blitz talent competition was held on Thursday, March 6th. Ten contestants took the stage, each showing off their unique talents. Singing, dancing, instrumental, and even some surprising acts that kept the audience entertained. The energy in the room was high, with everyone cheering and supporting the performers. I had never been to a Bulldog Blitz talent show before so I was excited to see what is was all about.
I absolutely loved the show. It was so much fun watching my fellow students shine and share their talents. I was very impressed by the number of students that were brave enough to take to the stage in front of their peers, professors, family, and friends. I was on the edge of my seat with every contestant that took the stage, very thankful that I was not a judge because I would have wanted to give every one of these students first place! One of my favorite acts were two students, Darshan Gowda and Disha Srinivas, a duo who took to the stage and performed an entertaining and humorous dancing act. There were several singing acts, three different duets, and three solos. A very impressive guitar solo performed by Peyton Walker, an a beautiful piano performance by Jacob Hicks.
The hosts, Miss SWOSU Mia Macias, and 2024 Homecoming King Landry Freeman, keep the show entertaining and lighthearted with quick comments and remarks while introducing each contestant. I enjoyed how the night had a nice flow to it and was keep upbeat and entertaining. Although the talent show is all in good fun, there are some cash prizes to be won. First place received $1,000, second place $500, and third place $250. It was a night to remember. No matter who won, every contestant did a fantastic job, and I left feeling proud to be part of such a talented and supportive community.
