Much attention around the area has been focused on the SWOSU student, Logan Musil. A heartbreaking, disturbing story that rattled the community of Weatherford and beyond. To help combine the large amounts of information being spread around various methods, a comprehensive timeline of the events from many different sources has been made.
Information on the case was discovered through court documents. Taking that into account, some of the reported information was found through OSBI interviews with Cameron and members of his family. It is possible that some of the information published is not 100% what truly happened. For transparency, information gathered via Cameron’s interviews with investigators will be in gray.
The timeline begins on Thursday, September 11th. This day is reportedly the last day that Logan’s mother spoke to him. It is also when Logan and Cameron met and bonded over skateboarding.
Friday, September 12th: Cameron invited Logan to stay at his Purcell home. Logan’s phone was last used this day, with Google searches connecting the phone to Cameron’s parents, Michael and Lauren Lewis,’ home.
On the afternoon of Friday the 12th, the two left SWOSU. Logan reportedly brought laundry, a drawstring bag with a wallet and cellphone, and a skateboard. Cameron introduced Logan to his parents, then left to go see his girlfriend. However, he returned home once his parents called him, saying they didn’t want Logan to be there without Cameron. Later on, the two went to a marijuana dispensary in Norman. The two smoked together and went to a skate park in Norman. Cameron injured himself skating, and the two got food and then returned to Cameron’s house.
During the night of Friday the 12th, the two, along with Cameron’s brother, stayed in a camper behind his house. Cameron claimed that while he and his brother were trying to sleep, Logan kept waking them up, screaming at video games.

The next portion is very unclear. Reportedly, Cameron told Logan he had to leave and offered to take him to his parents’ house. He claimed that he then took Logan to an Edmond address that Logan had entered, and then returned to Purcell. After denying it at first, Cameron then told investigators that Logan and him did get into an altercation, but claimed he did not hurt Logan, and dropped him off in Edmond. He claimed that he didn’t remember much of the incident due to the two being high on psychedelic mushrooms. Lewis was hesitant to give investigators location data on his phone as to where he dropped Logan off.
After changing his story multiple times in the first interview, Cameron was interviewed again.
Cameron claimed that while Logan was playing video games, he then jumped up and started acting erratically. He began to rip lights down in the camper. The two began to fight inside, and the fight went outside. Cameron said that during the fight, Logan fell and hit his head on a rock; he thought Logan was just unconscious. He drug Logan into his vehicle and drove around, waiting for Logan to regain consciousness. Logan did not regain consciousness. At this point, Cameron claimed he was scared and drove Logan’s body to Veterans Lake in Sulphur. Cameron said he heard Logan take his last breath as he pulled his body out of the vehicle. He then dumped Logan’s body, along with his clothes, in the woods near the lake. He dropped the phone in the lake.
An investigator’s interview with Cameron’s brother, known as B.L. in court documents, revealed more details about the altercation. B.L. claimed Logan was being loud while playing video games and ripped the lights off the camper wall. He claimed the two began fighting outside, and Cameron held Logan’s shoulders down on the ground. He claims Logan began to calm down once Cameron punched him. B.L. said he saw Cameron “help” Logan into the vehicle, then took him to Edmond.
Cameron’s parents told investigators they saw the two enter the camper on Friday evening. Cameron’s Mom said she left for work at 8 pm, then arrived home at 4 am Saturday, and Cameron was gone. Cameron told both parents a similar story in which the two got into an altercation, and Cameron took Logan to an Edmond address and threw his belongings out of the car.
Cameron’s phone records showed the phone traveling south on I-35 around 2 am. By 4:22 am, the phone was near Veterans Lake in Sulphur, where Logan’s body was recovered. There were no indications that the phone traveled to Edmond that morning.
Fast forward to Tuesday, September 30th. Logan’s mother reported him missing.
In a later Facebook comment, Logan’s mother stated he recently told her his computer monitor broke. She assumed his phone could have also been broken, stating he goes through phones often. After not getting any reply, she reached out to campus police on the 30th.
On Wednesday, October 1st, SWOSU Police completed a wellness check. They found an empty room with a light still on, but a gaming chair and keyboard were missing. SWOPO also told Logan’s mother he had not been to classes or used his meal plan.
The first message went out to the public on Thursday, October 2nd, followed by an updated message on Friday, October 3rd.
On Monday, October 6th, OSBI announced they were now investigating the case. Also on this day, SWOPO found a gaming chair while searching in Cameron’s dorm. The chair was similar to the one missing from Logan’s room.
Investigations continued throughout the following days, and on Wednesday, October 8th, Logan’s body was found at Veterans Lake. The same lake that Cameron’s phone was tracked to. A bag containing clothes that matched what Logan was last wearing was found near the body. Cameron admitted to investigators that he threw Logan’s phone into the lake after dragging his body to the location where it was found.
Cameron was arrested at SWOSU on Thursday, October 9th, and the information was released to the public.
In the gap between the incidents of September 12th/13th and when Logan was first reported missing, there is not much confirmed about Cameron’s whereabouts. The Southwestern has received three anonymous reports about Cameron in this timeframe.
One report states Cameron was not present in a class throughout this time frame.
Multiple people state that Cameron was seen at a party in Weatherford on Friday, October 3rd. This was after the information about Logan’s disappearance was released to the public.
A third report states that Cameron was around campus at this time and was even making unsuspecting comments about Logan’s disappearance. Comments similar to what the average student on campus might have been saying.
A medical examiner could not find an injury that would readily explain the cause of death. The body was in a state of decomposition. A cause of death is still under investigation.
After reportedly being placed in the Custer County jail, Cameron was booked into the Grady County jail on October 10th with a charge of abusing a corpse. Lewis has since been bailed out on a $75,000 bond. OSBI is still investigating the death as a homicide.
A memorial was held on SWOSU’s campus for Logan on Tuesday, October 14th. A GoFundMe for Logan’s family can be found here.

I didn’t know Logan, but I knew his mom, Erin Musil. She is a wonderful person and I’m sure she raised a great son. His murderer needs to have justice done to him. He is an evil kid and apparently doesn’t know how much a persons life is worth. I hope you get yours….

Im Logans mother and I just want to ve clear. None of logans family lives in Edmond and never have…. we were living in wellston. Apparently Lewis forgot logan said wellston. So his Dad,Mom,and brother all said the same wrong town… very interesting I feel lile this whole family is full of sociopaths. Who claims an :accident ” but doesn’t call 911, lewis’ phone record shows he drove straight from his house in purcell all the way to veterans lake, thats almost an hour, and never in that hour drive did he think hmm may e I should get him help, take him to the ER, something no he watched him take his last breath then continued to drag him into the woods and leave him. He needs to be held accountable for the vile things he did to my son. Lewis is a monster and im glad they got him so he can’t hurt anyone else as he did to my son…
