WARRENSBURG, Mo. – SWOSU Soccer had three standouts placed on the Division II Conference Commissioner’s Association (D2CCA) All-Central Region team, announced on Tuesday.

Nicole Petrino was named a first team selection, while Brianna Benitez and Elizabeth Moreno were both placed on the second team.

Petrino, fresh off being named the GAC Defensive Player of the Year and a first team all-conference selection, earns the first all-region nod of her career.

Moreno, a first team all-conference player this season, has now been named all-region by the D2CCA twice after having also picked up second team honors back in 2019.

Benitez, also a first team all-conference player, led the SWOSU offense in scoring and assists and receives second team honors as well.

With the selections, SWOSU has now had 18 D2CCA All-Central Region honorees since 2012.

The D2CCA All-Region teams are voted on by the region’s Sports Information Directors. The 13 first-team honorees will now advance to the national ballot, and the announcement and distribution of the All-American Teams will be Dec. 11.
