The 9th annual Joyce Adams Curtis Concerto Aria competition was recently held at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

Student winners of each division were:

• Vocal Division Winner – Alex Fife, Mustang, student of Dr. Robin Griffeath
• Instrumental Division Winner – Conlan Boatman, Bethany, student of Dr. Matthew Tracy
• Vocal Division Honorable Mention – Bailey Hanes, Oklahoma City, student of Dr. Kristin Griffeath
• Instrumental Division Honorable Mention – Gary Hoover, Bartlesville, student of Dr. Richard Tirk

The SWOSU Music Department sponsors the annual competition. The winners will have the opportunity to perform with the SWOSU Symphony Orchestra, under the guidance of Dr. Alex Lee, during the upcoming spring semester.

“Congratulations to all the participants, collaborative pianists, adjudicators, applied instructors and everyone else who made this year’s competition a success,” said Dr. Robin Griffeath.
