College of Pharmacy prepares for professionalism dinner

First-year pharmacy students , save the date – Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy will hold a Professionalism Banquet on Tuesday, Jan. 28, at 6 p.m.

Besides first-year students, faculty, and staff from the College of Pharmacy, also the University President, Dr. Randy Beutler, and Provost, Dr. James South, will attend the dinner, which will take place in the Student Union Ballroom.

“The banquet emphasizes that over the next four years of pharmacy training, our students will not only be expected to meet academic requirements, but they will also develop professional skills and attitudes,” Stephen Drinnon, from the College of Pharmacy, said. “The event will begin to lay the foundation for the development of a professional attitude that will carry throughout the College of Pharmacy program and the rest of their pharmacy careers.”

Dr. Nina Morris, a SWOSU alumni and recently retired College of Pharmacy faculty member, will attend the event as the evening’s speaker.

“She continues to exemplify professionalism by continuing her service in pharmacy through practicing at the Agape Clinic, our local indigent care center, and the annual SWOSU College of Pharmacy Panama medical mission trip,” Drinnon stresses.
