1 SWOSU employee has COVID-19 – 25 cases in Weatherford, 58 in Custer County

The SWOSU administration on Tuesday, August 3, published its latest COVID-19 numbers. According to the university’s COVID-19 dashboard, 1 university employee has the coronavirus. No students on either campus are infected.

In Weatherford, 25 people have COVID as of August 4, according to the Oklahoma State Department of Health’s website (Clinton: 28 cases; Thomas: 3; Arapaho: 2; Custer County: 58). Sayre has 6 cases.

Case numbers across Oklahoma and the country are on the rise. SWOSU President Dr. Diana “Diane” Lovell repeatedly urged students to get vaccinated. She didn’t ruled out the option that old COVID protocols (that would include social distancing and wearing masks) could be reinstated.
