Inside Take of SWOSU Softball

Inside Take of SWOSU Softball

SWOSU softball has been working really hard lately to prepare for the 2024 season. These ladies are excited to get to work and get some wins for SWOSU. Coach Boone has been ready and was asked some questions about SWOSU softball.

Coach Boone stated, “I’m excited for this group, I’m excited to see them compete day in and day out. The fall season has been good, we have played good competition. I’m ready to get on the field with them against someone in February.”  Being a player for Coach Boone, she really pushes us to succeed everyday. She wants the best from us day in and day out. She believes this team is something special.

She talks about what it is going to take to prepare for the spring. She states, “Practice, lots of practice. During the 45 day period we had lots of team practice. Now we are into individuals and really breaking everything down in our swings, fielding, and pitching.” Softball is in the weight room 4 days out of the week and practicing every day with Coach Boone and on their own time. They really want something this season, there is passion in this team. Coach Boone also states, “This team competes, everyday they get after it.”

Softball here is growing into something truly amazing. They work everyday before classes, in the classroom, and after classes everyday to get where they need to be. They always believe there is something they can get better at. Coach Boone really emphasizes the small things, the details because in the end those are going to make or break a team.

Coach Boone ends with speaking about why she came to SWOSU to coach. “The family feels here, it’s a place I could come and really build something special. The community is something so close and it really is a family.”  SWOSU is somewhere people feel like they could call anyone and they will be there. People here truly care about everyone, not just athletes or coaches, but every kid.
