SWOSU Soccer took down Ouachita Baptist this Thursday on Halloween, 2-1.
During the first half the Dawgs had all strength and came out strong with a goal by Natalie Freeman in the first 12 minutes. She didn’t do it by herself though, she has help from two of her teammates Philippine De Sancy and Savanna Clark. They all were able to work with one another and you could hear them communicating from the sidelines. This was a great goal for the Dawgs, and the only goal scored in the first half. Defense was strong from Allie Vasquez who had not one, not two, but three saves in the first.
Coming out into the last half it was back and forth for a while, both sides were pushing for a goal but nothing could come out of it. Until OBU was able to score in the top corner of our goal with only 10 minutes left in the game. SWOSU wasn’t backing down and responded quickly to this goal because two minutes later the Dawgs were back up 2-1. This goal came from Anna Bager, this one was unassisted. She pushed hard and was able to get one in the corner of OBU’s goal out of reach from the goalie. This ended the game and SWOSU was now 3-4 in conference.
THe bulldogs are hoping to push this win to Saturday November 2nd at 11am when they face Harding University here in Weatherford.
