SWOSU Business Students Attend Thunder STIR Event

On Monday February 24th 2025, 20 SWOSU Business Students attended the Oklahoma City Thunder STIR Event at the Paycom Center in OKC. This event provided an opportunity to learn about career opportunities in sports, entertainment and local business, as well as the opportunity to network with experienced business professionals and others with similar interests. There were optional workshops including Winning the Interview, Resume Building, Professional Branding Workshop, Networking 101 and professional headshots from Photoville. Business Representatives included Big Brothers Big Sisters, Braums, Loves, Loud City Catering, Mosaic Personnel, Oklahoma Athletics, OKC Comets, OKC Thunder, OSU-OKC, Palomar, PayCom, SNU, Tulsa Oilers, YMCA, and more. Additionally, attendees were given the option to stay and cheer for the OKC Thunder following the event at the game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Amanda Taylor is a sophomore from Hinton, OK majoring in Business Markting. Amanda is serving as a 1st year Orientaion Leader for SWOSU, as well as working for The Southwestern. She joined the team in November of 2023. Amanda is a student life photographer and writer.
