Kingsley Ehiemua, a former SWOSU student and athlete in the football team, is the main suspect in a shooting at Campus North apartments in Weatherford on Oct. 27, 2020. As a precaution, the whole SWOSU campus was put in a 40-minute lockdown, because the location of the shooting was close to campus.

Custer County court on Friday, August 20, set the date for Ehiemua’s trial. It will take place December 7 through December 10, according to court records. Ehiemua pled not guilty and is currently out on bond.

The suspect is charged with first-degree robbery, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, and conspiracy. If found guilty, he could spend up to several decades in prison.

According to Weatherford Daily News, Zackary Gilbert, the man who was allegedly shot by Ehiemua, had agreed to a deal of 4 pounds of marijuana with Damien Davis. After stepping into Davis’ apartment, Ehiemua pointed a gun at his back and told him “Give me your shit.”
