WEATHERFORD, Okla. – For his efforts against Arkansas Tech and Harding last week, Damion Thornton has earned the Great American Conference Player of the Week distinction.

This is Thornton’s second player of the week honor of the season and the fourth of his career.

The junior averaged 22.0 points per game last week, including a 25-point performance against Tech on Thursday. It was his second straight game to post a double-double, after he also finished with 12 rebounds. Two days later against Harding, Thornton finished with 19 points and four rebounds on 8-of-14 shooting (57%) overall.

Thornton and the Bulldogs have won their past three games dating back to January 8th.

SWOSU will look to extend the win streak this weekend with a three-game homestand beginning with Southern Arkansas on January 27th.
