The SWOSU Dance Marathon

SWOSU Dance Marathon will be hosting its annual event featuring games, challenges, food and more as part of the Children’s Miracle Network fundraiser for children at the OU Children’s Hospital.

The event begins at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, and continues through midnight Saturday, Feb.

Members of Dance Marathon pose with some of the children helped through the organization’s fundraiser.

26, on the Wellness Center basketball court.

Participants will receive a T-shirt and other gifts as a part of commission for entering the event.

“The focus of this is not just the joy I have during this event but also what impacted me was seeing where this money we raised went,” Chase McFarland, vice president of operations, said. “This project is meant for miracle kids, and this money is giving them a chance to live a, well, a chance to live really. It’s really exciting to see what can happen when you know the impact and look at a kid in the eyes and want the world for them.”

McFarland explained that Dance Marathon started in 1991 at Indiana University because a group of friends wanted to honor their friend Ryan White, who had died of a tragic illness the year before.
