National Donut Day

Happy National Doughnut Day! Or is it donut?

Did you know that the stigma around cops loving doughnuts started during World War II? In the forties and fifties, law enforcement had to work long unusual hours that often left them with no time to eat. Many officers would begin or end their patrol around the time that doughnut shops would open, so they would stop in to get a fresh doughnut, a coffee, and begin their patrol. Years later, the stigma still stands. Nobody can turn down a delicious doughnut.

The Southwestern staff brought some doughnuts from RX Brew over to SWOPO to thank them for their hard work and continued efforts through the school year. Thank a cop and be sure to stop by your local doughnut shop to snag some sweet treats!
