Lady Bulldogs Hold Steady in Latest Regional Rankings

WEATHERFORD, Okla. – The No. 19-ranked Lady Bulldogs remain in the fourth spot of the Central Region rankings released Wednesday by the NCAA. SWOSU is 24-4 on the season and has played all 28 of their contests against in-region opponents.

 

One more ranking will be released next Wednesday (March 2) before the 64-team tournament field is announcement on March 6.

 

Fort Hays State is currently ranked No. 1 in the region by the NCAA, followed right behind by in second St. Cloud State. Fellow GAC foe Harding dropped from fifth to tenth in the rankings.

 

Eight teams will make the NCAA Central Region Tournament held March 11-14. Three automatic bids will be awarded to the three conference tournament champions (Great American, MIAA and Northern Sun) and five teams will receive at-large berths based on the rankings.

 

SWOSU clinched the regular season GAC Championship last week and currently is riding a nine-game winning streak. They close out the season on the road against East Central and Southern Nazarene before heading to the GAC Tournament March 3-6.
