Southwestern Oklahoma State University soccer fell to University of Central Oklahoma in fall scrimmage 4 to 1. SWOSU soccer played well but fell short in some shots just missing by inches.
The only goal scored by SWOSU was by Philippine de Sancy during the second quarter. This goal was beautifully shot as it passed not one, not two, but three UCO defenders.Philippine is one of SWOSU international athletes coming all the way from Issou, France.
Speaking to Ashlyn Stigall post-game she stated, “Yes, we may have lost. But I believe we have a strong team this year. We all clicked so quickly and we work as a team, we should upset a lot of people this year.” Ashlyn Stigall is a junior at SWOSU and plays midfield for the Bulldogs. She helped in the UCO game with one of the three shots on goal SWOSU had.
In all, SWOSU soccer is looking to have a powerful season and hopes to not let a loss get in the way. The Bulldogs head to Dallas Saturday to take on Dallas Baptist University September 7th.
