Friday night, Weatherford Police officers responded to a call in reference to a person being shot in the chest. Upon arriving at the scene, 406 Texas Ave in Weatherford, firefighters and medical personnel began life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased after 30 minutes.
The victim has been identified as 23-year-old Landon Whitley from Weatherford. The suspect, Jonathon David Bridges, has been charged with First Degree Manslaughter. His bond is set at $150,000.

Family members have described the incident as a tragic accident. No more specifics about what occurred leading up to the shooting are known by The Southwestern at this time. If more becomes known, we will provide updates.
